On February 20, 2025 Werkcentrum Drechtsteden was officially opened with a special administrative tour. Councilors for Social and Economic Affairs, from the seven Drechtsteden municipalities, and cooperation partners gathered at the Trade Union House of the FNV in Dordrecht. They then boarded the bus together and made a route along the three physical locations of the Werkcentrum; Het Brughuis in Alblasserdam, at DOC on the Leerpark in Dordrecht and at the SamenWerkplein on the Spuiboulevard in Dordrecht. During the ride, the local aldermen told each other more about the labor market initiatives and challenges in their own municipality. At the locations of Werkcentrum Drechtsteden, they disembarked to learn more about the unique collaborations within the Werkcentrum.
Strong through collaboration
At each stop, attendees were given an explanation of how the Werkcentrum supports residents and employers. Werkcentrum Drechtsteden is the central point for questions about work, career development and training. Here UWV, Sociale Dienst Drechtsteden, municipalities, employer and employee organizations (including FNV and CNV), educational institutions, SBB and private (training) parties work closely together. This joining of forces enables job seekers and employees to find the right guidance and opportunities faster, while employers are better assisted with various personnel issues

By traveling through the region together today and sharing experiences, we underline the importance of a strong labor market in which everyone gets a chance. With Werkcentrum Drechtsteden, we now have one central point where residents and employers can go – a place where we not only connect, but also achieve concrete results.”
This administrative opening marked the start of a future in which Werkcentrum Drechtsteden is the pivot in the regional labor market region.
Open days
On March 6, 10 and 11, 2025, the Werkcentrum will hold open days at DOC (Leerpark Dordrecht), at Spuiboulevard 298 in Dordrecht and at the Brughuis in Alblasserdam, respectively. Look for more information on this website.
